The menstrual cup is made of biocompatible, medical grade silicone. By biocompatible, we mean that our menstrual cup material is tested to be safe for human use. The silicone we use is also medical grade; meaning, this is the same kind of silicone one would use in medical implants that stay in the body for several years.

Q. Is it safe to use Sochjuju cup?

Absolutely. Our cup is completely safe and hygienic to be used internally. It is a product by Freedom Products which was founded in Australia in 2009 and is the manufacturer of premium reusable period products. It is manufactured in Australia, from flexible, hypoallergenic, 100% medical grade silicone in a clean room environment to ISO 13485 standards which govern the manufacture of medical devices. The silicone used in the cup has been independently tested for biosafety and carries biocompatibility and toxicity certificates of compliance. The pigment used in the coloured menstrual cups is vegan and a UPS Class VI pigment, which complies with FDA registration requirements.

Q. How to Use a menstrual cup?

First, sterilize menstrual cup by boiling it in hot water for 5-7 minutes. Then, the cup can be used by folding it in several ways. We recommend the C fold and the punch-down fold for SochCup use. It is advised to stay calm and find a comfortable position (like squatting) to insert the cup. Once the cup is inserted into the vagina using one of the recommended folds, it can be removed after 5-6 hours by pinching the bottom of the cup. The contents of the cup can be emptied, the cup can be rinsed, and it can then be re-inserted. For more details, you can go through the User Guide.

Q. For how long can I wear my Sochjuju Cup?

This will depend on your flow but we recommend changing it once at least every 8 hours. On heavy flow days, you may want to empty sooner than recommended. When you are using the soch cup for the first time, you may want to empty it every 2-3 hours to check how much you’re bleeding and how often you may need to empty the cup.

Q. How often and how do I clean my Soch menstrual cup?

The menstrual cup need not be sterilized every single time you remove and reinsert it. However, it is advised that you sterilize the cup at the end of every cycle. You can do this by boiling it in a pan of hot water for 5-7 minutes. Once this is done, air dry it for a while and place it back in the cotton pouch that it came in. Do not store it in an air-tight box.
